In this tell-all episode I cover the difference between free and at not cost, and how to work for free without going into the red. It’s important to understand the distinction between the two as it informs much of the show. I also share a super embarrassing story of an ill-fated email I sent to Jay Baer as I was figuring all of this out.

You’ll Learn:

  • The show avatar – whom this podcast is talking to specifically
  • The real reason I ask the questions the way I ask them.
  • The difference between free and at no cost
  • How access to capital can be a real hurdle online, and must be addressed
  • How to work for free without going into debt

3 Key Points:

  1. Not knowing how to work for free can needlessly strain professional relationships.
  2. The show avatar, Lamar, drank the “un-college” kool-aid, and then hit the access to capital wall online. This is something to consider before thumbing your nose at College and financial aid.
  3. Be willing to work for free, but still request that budget costs be covered, billed directly to the client.
